Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students acquire knowledge about the treatment of basic tasks of numerical mathematics and modeling, in particular about
the following topics: error, condition, stability, order of convergence,
efficiency of procedures; 1D analysis: interpolation, extrapolation, FFT, univariate root problems (bisection, secant method, root secant method, Newton method), numerical and algorithmic differentiation, numerical integration; numerical linear algebra: matrix factorization, solution of systems of linear equations, solution of linear least squares problems, solution of eigenvalue problems, calculation of singular value decomposition; Multidimensional nonlinear systems of equations.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement: positive assessment of oral exam.
