Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The course aims at providing the students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of EU Law and serves as a preparation for the English written exams in EU Law (STEOP IREWI). The classes will consist of a discussion of hypothetical mock cases, online quizzes, discussion on questions on EU law and a mock written exam.

All students are encourage to simply attend and listen to the exercise even if they are not officially registered with the class. Students who take their oral exam with Prof. Hornkohl are also invited and encouraged to attend in this exercise, even without an official registration. All students who simply attend without being registered to the class will NOT be graded.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

For students who are registered and want to be graded: The grade for the exercise is composed of two online assignments on Moodle (50% each). The mock exam will not count as part of the grade of this class and will only serve as preparation. Participation is mandatory in all classes, including the Vorbesprechung. Unexcused non-participation can lead to a negative grade. Students who are registered and want to be graded have to attend the classes in person, online attendance is not allowed.

ATTENTION: If you don't want to be graded and simply attend class without a grade, please make sure to deregister in time. If you stay registered without attending class in person or submitting the two assignments on Moodle, you will receive a negative grade.

For students who are not officially registered and who just want to listen-in: For room capacity reasons, you are encourage to follow the class online under this link: https://univienna.zoom.us/j/64578140609?pwd=HHC5aefbrnwNUYd8ghauzbeB7AyTny.1 (Passcode: 443055) However, it will not be possible to participate in the class discussions and ask questions if the student only participates online. Questions are only answered during class and not via email. There will only be the possibility to attend the online live session, there will be no recording of the exercise. Students who are not officially registered in the class can still receive the mock exam test. Further information on pickup will be provided later on. However, students who are not officially registered will receive no corrections for their mock exam but can of course attend the discussions on results.

For questions about registration and deadlines, contact the Studienservicecentre (e.g., if you have missed the deadline to register) at ssc.rechtswissenschaften@univie.ac.at. Only the Studienservicezentrum can register you for the course once the deadline for course registration has passed. Students who remain registered after the deadline to cancel enrollment and who do not complete the course requirements (including attendance) will receive a negative grade.
