Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course aims to have students learn to communicate the contents of their MA to a broad audience, provide constructive feedback on other people's work, and gain useful input to make progress with their research.The course is only for MA Econ students who have started to work on their MA thesis. Each student must give a presentation (20 min). At the time of presentation, the thesis must be approximately 60% ready. The presentation describes the research question, motivation, related literature, added value in light of the literature and shows main results of the MA thesis.After each presentation each member of the audience has to be ready to give immediate feedback orally. Good feedback has two parts, praise and critique, and is based on the knowledge acquired in the MA Econ.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
To achieve a positive grade in this course, you must meet two key requirements (each accounting for 50% of the final grade):
o Deliver a satisfactory presentation of your thesis work.
o Actively participate in discussions, providing thoughtful feedback on others' presentations.A draft version of your presentation slides must be uploaded at least one week prior to your scheduled presentation. This draft can be revised up until the presentation day. Submitting your slides early gives your peers the opportunity to become acquainted with your topic, which fosters more informed and meaningful discussions.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
The thesis must be registered with the SSC (Study Service Center) by October 30.At the time of presentation, the thesis must be approximately 60% ready. This should be confirmed by the advisor of the Masters’ thesis in writing to the instructor. Having completed 60% of the thesis means that a central result has been obtained, that the detailed outline of the thesis is ready, and that the related literature has been summarized.o Deadline for your MA thesis advisor’s confirmation: January 20.Attendance and active participation in all presentations are mandatory for course completion. You must achieve a satisfactory level in both presentation and participation to attain a positive final grade

This course aims to have students learn to communicate the contents of their MA to a broad audience, provide constructive feedback on other people's work, and gain useful input to make progress with their research.The course is for MA Econ students only who have made substantial progress towards completing their MA thesis. Each student must present twice. The first presentation (7 min.) describes the main ideas and related literature of the MA thesis. The second presentation (ca. 10 min.) shows the results and value added compared to the related literature.Prior to the 2nd presentation the advisor of the Masters’ thesis has to confirm in writing to the course instructor that at least 60% of the thesis has been completed where 60% is understood as follows: a central result has been obtained, that the detailed outline of the thesis is ready, and that the related literature has been summarized.After each presentation each member of the audience has to be ready to give immediate feedback orally. Good feedback has two parts, praise and constructive criticism, and is based on the knowledge acquired in the MA Econ.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
In order to pass this course the student needs to explain the material developed in their Masters’ thesis to a broad audience and they need to be able to give valuable feedback on the presentations of others.The course grade evaluates own performance in the two presentations and feedback on presentations of others. After each presentation the presenter will receive on demand an evaluation of their performance.Attendance of all meetings is mandatory.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Failure to deliver the second presentation will lead to a negative assessment in the course. Active, regular participation in the course is expected.

The thesis must be registered with the SSC by October 14.Each student must present twice. The first presentation (10-15 min.) describes the main ideas and related literature of the MA thesis. The second presentation (15 - 20 min.) shows the results and added value of the thesis and puts these in light of the literature. A significant part of the thesis should be completed prior to the second presentation, i.e. there must be results/findings that are discussed. At least one central own result should have been obtained, the detailed outline of the thesis must be ready, and the related literature must have been summarized.After each presentation each member of the audience has to be ready to give immediate feedback orally. Good feedback has two parts, praise and critique, and is based on the knowledge acquired in the MA Econ. Feedback should also be provided in writing (details will be discussed in the first meeting).

In order to pass this course the student needs to explain the material developed in their Masters’ thesis to a broad audience and they need to be able to give valuable feedback on the presentations of others. The course's grade evaluates own performance in the two presentations and feedback on presentations of others. Participants are also encouraged to give feedback to the presenter outside of the class. Attendance is mandatory.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
For a positive grade, students must give both presentations and be active in discussions. The grades will reflect the quality of the presentations and the activity in class.

This course is designed to enhance the master thesis experience by offering a platform for presenting and critically discussing key elements of your research. Engaging in both roles, as a presenter of your own work and as a constructive critic of your peers’ research, is fundamental to this course.After each presentation, each member of the audience has to be ready to give immediate feedback orally. Good feedback has two parts, praise and constructive criticism, and is based on the knowledge acquired in the MA Econ.This seminar is tailored for students working on their thesis in the field of “Behavioral and Experimental Economics.”
