Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

In the core combinations module "Semantic Technologies", the goal is to research and facilitate innovation in the digital transformation age. A model-based approach is employed to conceptualize, implement, and deploy semantic information systems. Thereby, individuals or teams develop semantic information systems while exploring the potential of "smart" models.

In the summer term, the necessary foundations are laid out and concepts for semantic information systems in the digital transformation age are created. In the winter term, semantic information systems are developed.

The state of the art in semantic technologies is presented. Hands-on tutorials reinforce the topics. Furthermore, individual or team-based conceptualizations have to be prepared for practical topics in the areas of enterprise modelling and semantic information systems.

Correspondingly, students acquire skills to:
* Discuss Semantic Technologies
* Conceptualize scenarios that benefit from semantic technologies in the digital transformation age
* Design semantic information systems

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

During the semester, students have to present specific topics from sematic technologies and design a corresponding tutorial.

At the end of the semester, a written test has to be passed. The test will contain theory questions and applied problems. During the test, no unauthorized materials are allowed and all electronic devices have to be turned off.

Until the end of the Semester, a project has to be completed. The project applies the Agile Modeling Method Engineering (AMME) framework in hybrid metamodeling. Thereby, sematic technologies are applied to use cases from "Factory of the Future", "Cyber-Physical Systems" and "Internet of Things".

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

In detail, the grade is constituted by:

* Student Presentations including Tutorials (30%)
* Project Conceptualization (45%)
* Written Test (25 %)

For a positive evaluation of the course, more or equal to 50% of requirements have to be fulfilled. The grading scale is defined as follows: >50% - 62,5%: Genügend; >62,5% - 75%: Befriedigend; >75% - 87,5%: Gut; >87,5%: Sehr Gut

Missing class more than three times results in a negative grade.

Prüfungsstoff

The examination topics are selected from the fields of
* Knowledge Engineering,
* Semantic Technologies and
* Metamodelling.
