Assessment will be by written examination at the end of the course, consisting of two longer essay questions.

Exam is based on materials from lectures and readings.
Literatur
Short readings will be assigned a week in advance via Moodle most weeks.

We'll explore digitization and transcription, mapping and spatial analysis, network visualization, text analysis, and the rapidly evolving role of AI in humanistic research. Along the way, we'll visit ongoing DH projects at the University of Vienna and work through practical exercises together in class.
No technical background required. The goal is to help you decide whether these methods are useful for your own research interests—and to prepare you for further study if you want to go deeper.
