Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
In seinem Buch Ancient Medicine (3rd ed., 2024, S. 42) schreibt V. Nutton: "Except for the Bible, no document and no author from Antiquity commands the authority in the twenty-first century of Hippocrates of Cos and the Hippocratic Oath. They are regularly cited in both learned journals and the popular press as the standard of ethical conduct to which all practising physicians should adhere." Ziel der Vorlesung ist es, die Gründe für das heutige Ansehen dieser sagenhaften Persönlichkeit zu verstehen. In der Vorlesung werden die wichtigsten Schriften und Themen des sogenannten Corpus Hippocraticum - der Sammlung der in der Antike dem Arzt Hippokrates zugeschriebenen Schriften - vor dem Hintergrund des naturwissenschaftlichen und philosophischen Denkens der klassischen Zeit vorgestellt.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Die LV ist nichtprüfungsimmanent, d.h. eine schriftliche Abschlussprüfung zum LV-Stoff findet statt. Die Prüfung besteht aus offenen und multiple choice Fragen. Für eine positive Note müssen 50% der Punkteanzahl erreicht werden. Es sind keine Hilfsmittel erlaubt.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
50% der Prüfungspunkte sind für eine positive Note notwendig.
51-64%: genügend
65-79%: befriedigend
80-89%: gut
90-100%: sehr gut

Prüfungsstoff
Prüfungsstoff sind die in der LV besprochenen Themen und Texte. Die Prüfung ist für Studierende der Klassischen Philologie und für Studierende anderer Fächer unterschiedlich: Für klassische Philologen beinhaltet sie auch Übersetzungsaufgaben, für alle anderen Studierenden setzt sie keine Griechischkenntnisse voraus.
