Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

In this Critical Readings course we will look at literary texts dealing with art and explore the ways in which art has inspired the literary imagination. Apart from analysing the concepts of art and the artist as reflected in a variety of genres from different periods of time we will also pay attention to the relationship between literature and art by looking at the interface of verbal and visual modes of representation. Participants will deepen their knowledge of terminology central to the interpretation of literary texts and will apply a range of critical and theoretical approaches to narrative fiction, poetry and drama.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Regular attendance and participation in classroom discussions; oral presentations; portfolio consisting of individual assignments to be specified

44 points portfolio
30 points oral presentation
26 points active participation and short assignments
Students have to fulfil all course requirements (each with at least 50%) and to score at least 60 points altogether to pass this course.

5: 59-0p

Prüfungsstoff
