Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course is organized as a multi-disciplinary exploration of Chinese approaches to the Anthropocene which is aimed to understand two sides of the problem:
• The way non-Chinese observers look for Chinese approaches to the Anthropocene in the hope to find solutions in traditional Chinese thought and religions as well as in contemporary attempts in mainland China to tackle with the problems presented to us in the age of the Anthropocene;
• The way current Chinese discourses on the Anthropocene have been developing both with direct relations to the global discussion on the Anthropocene and indirect ways of dealing with the global crisis of the environment.
