Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course builds directly on the foundation of Chinese Reading and Writing I, using the textbook New Target Chinese Spoken Language 1 as a basis. Students will systematically expand their knowledge of characters, vocabulary, and sentence patterns to engage with everyday topics such as hobbies, daily schedules, shopping, and asking for directions. The focus is on developing practical literacy skills to read short, structured dialogues and texts, and to write simple sentences and short paragraphs on familiar themes. Instruction continues to integrate and practice techniques for digital character input (Pinyin). The course combines guided introduction, interactive class exercises, and individual reading/writing practice.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

The course is assessed through continuous performance (regular participation, homework, quizzes) and a final written exam. The final exam consists of a reading comprehension section and a writing section (e.g., answering questions based on a short text and writing sentences or a short note on a familiar topic). No aids are permitted during the exam. You will receive detailed information about the exam format during the semester.

To pass the course, students may not miss more than three sessions and must pass the final exam.

Grading scale:
100-90% = Very Good (1)
89.9-80.0% = Good (2)
79.9-70.0% = Satisfactory (3)
69.9-60.0% = Sufficient (4)
< 59.9% = Not Enough / Failed

Prüfungsstoff

All examination topics will be related to the materials covered in class, including vocabulary, sentence structures, and exercises provided on Moodle. Students are expected to preview the vocabulary weekly.
