Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Goal: The students will learn the usage of Hanjaeo (Sino-Korean words) in the Korean language and the correct reading and writing of the Hanja (Chinese script).

Content: Composition of Hanja as well as antonym and synonym

Methods: practical exercise

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

• homework
• active engagement/participation in class

No aids are permitted for all exams.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Minimum requirements:
• Compulsory attendance, students are allowed two unexcused absences.
• the submission of at least 90% of the assigned homework
• two written exams in person (anticipated dates: 4. May and 29. June)
Exceptions to compulsory attendace must be obtained by timely submission of a medical certificate, in special cases, agreement must be reached with the lecturer.

Assessment criteria:
Once all above prerequisites are met the final grade will be derived from the result of the exams with following weightings:
• Home work and acitive engagement: 10 points
• 1. written exam: 40 points
• 2. written exam: 50 points

At least 60 points are required for a positive assessment of the course.
1 (sehr gut) 100-90 points
2 (gut) 89-80 points
3 (befriedigend) 79-70 points
4 (genügend) 69-60 points
5 (nicht genügend) 59-0 points

A catch-up-examination is only granted for medical reasons. In this case, the timely submission of a medical certificate is required. Each examination can only be taken once per semester.

Note: The percentage weighting in Moodle is non-relevant and purely technical.
