*** ** UPDATE 22 October 2021 **
Dear students,
as of 25 October 2021 the COVID-19 regulations are softened due to the high vaccination rate of ~80% among students. From now on seating limitations in Lecture Halls are withdrawn, all seats can be occupied. The use of FFP2 masks is highly recommended. Lectures will be held in hybrid form, as announced.
All the best!

On 30 September 2021, 1.15-2.45 p.m., a preparatory meeting will be held online via Zoom. This meeting is not obligatory to attend, but will give a general organizational introduction. We will record the meeting and it will be made available on moodle. We will give you an overview about the lecture, the exams and will give you the possibility to pose any questions you might have. The link can be found on moodle.

This lecture series is a sequel to the successful lecture series "Climate Change and Climate Crisis - Interdisciplinary Perspectives" and "Climate Change and Climate Crisis. Future perspectives and concepts".
If you have joined us in previous lecture series and obtained a grade, you can still join us this semester as well! This lecture has a different lecture number than the previous ones and therefore it counts as a different and new lecture.

It will address current issues from various disciplines: climate science, geography, economics, cultural studies, political science, law, finance and many more.

All of the speakers are well-known researchers in their respective fields and beyond. They are from various institutions: University of Vienna, Technical University of Vienna (TU), Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK), University of Oxford, University of Lausanne, Universität Tübingen, IIASA,...
Many of the speakers participate in public debates about the probable effects of the current climate crisis and about possible remedies. The final program will be presented in due time.

This lecture series is open to all students of the University of Vienna and to the wider public. For more information about the eligibility of the series in your study programme, please contact the StudiesServiceCenter of your degree programme.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, seatings in the lecture hall will be limited, but all lectures will be live-streamed in parallel and also be made accessible online afterwards. Some talks of external speakers will be given online.
