3. Final exam (40%)
4. Active participation during class (15%).Attendance in class is mandatory. Absence during one class will be accepted (except first session).
Students are expected to prepare reading assignments before each class.Use of generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) for the written assignments is not accepted and will lead to a failed grade for the assignment.

Prüfungsstoff
Students assignments will be assessed in terms of critical reflection and application of lessons learned according to scientific standards. The course involves a significant workload of mandatory reading which is essential for participation in class.The course requires fundamental knowledge about socioeconomic transformations (particularly from "VU Basics in Socioeconomic Transformations"). A reading list will be provided to give students the opportunity to catch up or recapitulate.The lecturer will offer feedback on the assignments on request.

The course analyzes conceptual approaches to regional innovation policies in detail and puts a particular focus on their integration with multi-scalar policy mixes. Students will familiarize themselves with a wide range of conceptual literature on policy approaches and mixes, and discuss them in class. Regular mandatory reading assignments serve as preparation for these discussions.
