Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

- Formation and origin of the Alps
- Abiotic factors in the alpine zone and ecophysiological adaptations
- elevational zonation; representative plant communities and their most important constituent species as well as their biogeographic patterns
- classical and molecular biogeography (e.g., patterns of endemism) with emphasis on Pleistocene range dynamics
