Meeting on 3rd of October 2025 (VB) is OBLIGATORY (link will be sent to all ahead of VB). Students who do not attend the initial meeting and/or have no topic agreed on will be deregistered.
Students perform individual project with individual supervisors. This course is equivalent to 300330-1 PR Drivers of plant and fungal diversity: from genomes to biomes (SS).A list of potential projects will available at https://master-program-botany.univie.ac.at/studies/specific-research-project-winter-term-25/. This list is a guideline and general project description/showcasing, so you may also pro-actively contact potential supervisor(s) and agree on a specific project beforehand.

Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Students will plan, conduct, and present (in the form of scientific manuscript) a small stand-alone research project in the field of structural/evolutionary botany. Each student works in one research group (project supervisor's group).

Preparation of a scientific manuscript/report (100 %)
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Students are able to independently design and conduct a research project in bradly understood structural botany/diversity of plants. This includes the search for relevant literature, formulation of testable hypotheses, and application of analytical methods in a novel context, the structuring of experimental or laboratory procedures, data gathering and data analysis, as well as presentation and discussion of the results.
Prüfungsstoff
The individual projects the students will be working on will be associated with ongoing research project of one of the supervising researchers.

Literature will be indicated by the respective superving researcher.
