Assessment will be based on the following:
- 1 mid-term test (30%)
- 1 end-of-term test (30%)
- Written and oral assignments (20%)
- Participation in class (20%)
60% of the above are required for a passing grade at the end of the semester.No materials or electronic devices are permitted for the tests.

An advanced level of both oral and written English is required.
Students must complete all assignments.
Regular attendance is mandatory – two absences allowed.

Prüfungsstoff
The tests will be based on the assignments and work in class.
Students will achieve the course objectives by
- analysing and assessing a variety of texts (in individual/group projects);
- writing, adapting/rewriting and optimising texts for various situations, target groups and media;
- reflecting on and discussing various steps in the text production process;
- incorporating theoretical input given in class in their assignments and applying strategies and methods accordingly.

To achieve these objectives, we will look at and work with different types of texts (written, audio and audiovisual), formats and genres in reading and listening activities, writing assignments and presentations.
There will be weekly assignments, prepared individually and in groups.
