Dear masters!
You want to know and understand about social relations, which include not only mechanisms of interaction various socio-cultural structures in the field of physical culture and sports, but also discusses the positive impact of sport on individuals and society as a whole in economic, financial and social terms?
In this case, the "Sociology Of Sport" course will help you understand modern aspects of the relationship between sociology and sport, as well as the, patterns and organizations or groups associated with sport.
You will familiarize yourself with the modern scientific vision of classic basic knowledge about the social function of sports; also, will understand the importance of sports in the development of the individual and society; determination of the place and role of sport in social institutions and directions of its popularization in it, as well as influences on sports from the side of global social changes
At the end of the semester, you should be able to analyze the phenomenon of sport as a social institution based on the modern scientific research. You will acquire knowledge of the critical understanding of current topics in sports sociology and potential implementations of sociological research.

Aims, contents and method of the course
Goals of the course:
First of all, to form students' knowledge about social relations, which include not only mechanisms of interaction various socio-cultural structures in the field of physical culture and sports, but also discusses the positive impact of sport on individuals and society as a whole in economic, financial and social terms.
The sociology of sport is an area of study that deals with the relationship between sociology and sport, as well as the, patterns and organizations or groups associated with sport.
Thus, students will receive basic knowledge about the social function of sports; also, will understand the importance of sports in the development of the individual and society; determination of the place and role of sport in social institutions and directions of its popularization in it, as well as influences on sports from the side of global social changes
At the end of the semester, the students should be able to analyze the phenomenon of sport as a social institution according to the content listed below. They will acquire knowledge of the critical understanding of the current topics in sports sociology and potential implements of the sociological research.

Methods:
Sociology of Sport is a seminar course, in which students present and discuss selected topics based on the analysis of modern scientific publications. Moreover, the great attention is paid to student’s active participation in seminars.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Assessment and permitted materials
The entire service provision by students must be carried out by the following December 30th at the latest on Januar xxth, at the latest, at the latest courses of the summer semester. Students who are not of the GGSt. Have signed the course. If the assessment is negative, a commission attendance is inadmissible, attending the course must be repeated. Legal source: Articles of Association of the University of Vienna §10 (4, 5, 6).
You are expressly pointed out that when a significant performance is determined (e.g. copying, plagiarism, using unauthorized aids, counterfeits, ghostwriting etc.) the entire PI-LV is considered cheated and counts as a start. (Entry in U: Space: X = not assessed).
Multimedia and verbal presentation, written seminar paper. Participation in discussions and discussions

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
It is pointed out that the assessment criteria depend on the form in which the course will take place this semester (A face-to-face teaching, B hybrid form between distance learning and face-to-face teaching).
A Face-to-face classes:
1. Working posture [20 points]
(Attendance, punctuality, cooperation, commitment, discussions)
2 Fulfillment of work orders [ 60 points]. Preparation of a theoretical report with a multimedia presentation according to the specified topics
3. Written final theoretical review [20 points]
Requirements:
At least 75% attendance
At least 50% active participation

B Hybrid form (distance learning and classroom teaching)
1. Working posture [30 points]
(Attendance, participation in webinars and video conferences, punctuality, punctuality in submitting work assignments, commitment)
2. Fulfillment of work orders [70 points].
Preparation of a report-review based on references of modern theoretical and statistical research of scientists with a multimedia presentation (in accordance with the specified topics)

At least 51% of the maximum points during the semester
