Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This interdisciplinary workshop will provide students with a space to work with empirical material from qualitative interviews. Its aim is to support them in analysing and writing up this material. The workshop will not espouse a single methodological or disciplinary approach; rather, the focus will be on students defining their own analytical strategy before collective discussion of instances of interview data and of students’ writing about this. As a whole, the workshop will offer a structure for clarifying the approach students are taking to analysis of their empirical material, for discussing how they are going about (or want to go about) writing about this analysis, and sharing and getting feedback on concrete examples of this. We will also cover questions relating to ‘good’ writing and representation of empirical material: how does one do justice to complex narratives, situations, and worlds?Students are expected to work with their own interview material, so should be at a stage in their research where this is possible.
