Students become acquainted with major concepts in biogeography and its diverse methods resulting from the field's position at the intersection of Earth sciences, geography, ecology, phylogenetics and systematics as well as population genetics. Understanding of biogeography is further deepened by discussing these topics using relevant scientific literature (articles and reviews).
