Content
The seminar accompanies students in the “Religion in Europe” Master's program. Students are given the opportunity to reflect on selected content of the program in an academic and interdisciplinary way. The content is determined by the course instructors in consultation with the participants. In addition to questions relating to the organization of studies and learning techniques, this seminar also gives students the opportunity to exchange experiences and network with a view to their future careers.
Participation is compulsory for students on the “Religion in Europe” Master's program.

Objectives
• In-depth scientific engagement with selected topics of the studies
• Personal reflection on selected topics of the studies
• Engagement with and acquisition of methodological skills
• Engagement with the understanding of interdisciplinarity
• Exchange of experiences and networking among students
• Acquisition of learning techniques and clarification of questions related to the organization of studies

Methodological Elements
• Impulses from the instructors, presentations by students, group and individual work (especially reflections).
Details will be announced in the seminar.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation in the seminar, mandatory completion of all exercises, and the creation of a final documentation (approximately 20,000 characters) are expected. Details will be announced in the seminar.

By registering for this course, participants agree that all written work created within the framework of this course must be uploaded to Moodle and electronically checked for plagiarism.

Use of AI in the Course
See the guidelines of the Catholic-Theological Faculty: "Guidelines on dealing with AI in teaching"
The use of AI for partial performance is only permitted in courses if the course instructors expressly permit or specify this and must be carried out in accordance with the KTF's Guidelines on dealing with AI. If students have any further requests or ideas regarding the use of AI, they can discuss these with the course instructors.

Please note: In case of suspicion of non-transparent use of AI not in accordance with the guidelines, the course instructors have the right to conduct a "grade-relevant conversation".

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements for a positive assessment:
80% attendance; 2 excused absences are allowed. In case of absence, a written substitute performance must be agreed upon with the course instructors.
Active participation
Completion of all exercises and the final documentation.

As a minimum requirement, 100% attendance is mandatory, as active participation in the course and learning in and with the group are essential parts of the learning process. 2 excused absences (with a valid reason) are allowed, but a substitute performance must be completed in consultation with the course instructors. For students who are unable to attend more than once due to prolonged illness, professional or other commitments (proof required), an individual solution will be agreed with the course instructors in order to be able to successfully complete the course.

Assessment criteria: active participation and exercises during the semester (45% of the grade) as well as the scientific quality of the final documentation (55%).

Examination topics

Will be announced in the first course unit.

Reading list

Will be announced continuously in the seminar.
