Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The term gender or gender / queer studies are mostly criticized by religions. They are - as for example by the Catholic Church - rejected as ideology, as they dissolve loose from biological foundations propagate a social understanding of gender and would also be in contradiction to the divine order. Pope Francis, for example, explains in Amoris laetitia that gender ideology "promises a society without gender difference and erodes the anthropological basis of the family"
In the seminar central concerns of gender studies should be recorded and their scientifically dishonest reception in the Catholic context recognized against the background of fundamentalist logic of thought. The methodology is based on selected texts, authors and special topics.
