Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar is designed to facilitate discussion of diploma theses, master’s theses, dissertations, and habilitation theses written under the supervision of the course instructor. The guiding principle is the question of how to structure society justly. As part of the various projects—and also alongside them—current publications in the fields of political ethics and (Christian) social ethics are discussed.
The course is mandatory for all diploma candidates, master’s candidates, doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral candidates in the department. Interested students working in this field may participate in the research seminar after consulting with the course instructor.

Assessment and permitted materials

Grading is made up of the following components:
Regular attendance, participation in discussions and participation in the respective seminar units (40%).
Independent presentation of a topic unit including the preparation of a handout (20%)
Seminar paper of approx. 20 pages (40%)
