Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture is offered as part of the extension curriculum "Ethics and Law in Medicine". It offers students of all faculties insight into central medical ethical topics, methods and forms of argumentation.
The lecture is held in partial blocks and includes lectures as well as interactive units with discussions, contributions by experts and - if the number of participants allows it - an excursion.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students can choose between:
Written exam (immediately after the last lecture course) (1 hour)
Oral exam (10-15 minutes)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Oral Exam: At least 50% of the examination questions must be answered in order to receive a positive grade in the oral examination. Questions will be developed from the case studies that are part of the lecture course.
Written Examination: The central ethical problem points of the thematized areas must be recorded. Exam questions are part of a pool of questions that can be prepared similar to a portfolio reflection accompanying the lecture course.

Content of the lecture course.
Exam questions will deal with the content of the lecture course and with the application of the gained knowledge on a medical case.
