Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The Seminar responds to a discussion that is at present going on in several neighbour countries of Austria, namely whether there should be sexual education in Schools, and maybe also in the Kindergarden, and if so, which criteria it should respect. By elaborating the theme from interdisciplinary perspectives, students can acquire fundamental knowledge and tools of understanding and interpreting that enable them to address the questions in a differentiated way.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

knowledge of the Christian Tradition with respect to sexual ethics, including recent documents of the Roman Catholic Church; Basic knowledge of Gender Theory and of some results of Cultural Sciences in the field of sexuality; Basic knowledge of children's psychological development and sexual pedagogical approaches.
