Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course aims to equip students with the ability to evaluate portrayals of Jesus in films from both an exegetical and a filmographic perspective. It also aims to teach them how to use films in schools and classrooms and what to look out for when doing so.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in preliminary discussions and block sessions, workshops and discussions, as well as a written assignment.
For the course Religion and Media: 5 pages
For the seminar Problems in the History of Early Christianity: 15 pages
For the interdisciplinary seminar: 15 pages
Participation in the exercise/seminar 50% - written assignment 50%; both components must be passed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance at all block dates is mandatory.
Active participation in the seminar units (constructive contributions, level of reflection) and the preparation of the written part (structure, argumentation, use of literature) are criteria for assessment.

Examination topics

Participation in course elements and homework assignment on a specific topic (depending on the course).
