Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The metaphor of the "parting of the ways" is repeatedly used to describe the history of early Christianity and late antique Judaism. The seminar will present and discuss central texts of the 1st and 2nd centuries as well as essential research work. Overall, the seminar aims to deepen the understanding of historical processes, to uncover anti-Judaic motifs and to enrich the Jewish-Christian dialogue.

Assessment and permitted materials

The design of a seminar unit, cooperation during the seminar and the preparation of a seminar paper are expected.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participation and preparation 20%, quality of the seminar unit 40%, quality of the seminar paper 40%.
Each part of the performance must be achieved and positive.
