Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Due to the cancellation of two guestspeakers from Denmark, the focus of the seminar/workshop has changed: The course focusses now only on challenges in prisons in three countries along the current routes of immigration, which have a different historical and religious background: Greece (orthodox), Austria (Catholic) and Sweden (Lutheran) [instead of originally planned Denmark]. Experts of these countries from Sweden and Thessaloniki who research about the religious changes because of immigration in correctional services will give comparative lectures in the special field of the management of religious diversity in prisons and religous counselling.
Assessment and permitted materials
Frequent participation in all parts of the course, presentation of protocols of lectures and a elaborated paper on one of the topics related to the seminar.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Overview on challenges and new developments in the management of diversity in prisons in Austria, Greece and Scandinavia.
Examination topics
Presentations, participation in a panel discussion, discussion with persons dealing with immigrants in state institutions or religious communities.
