Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will be held in parallel to the lecture Digital Law and prepares students for the module examination Digital Law.
It covers the following topics:
• General legal framework
• Legal tech
• Legal research
• Artificial intelligence and law
• Data protection law
• Platform law
• Intellectual property law
The course is held through presentations by the lecturers and is accompanied by discussions as well as the visualisation of the learning material.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment: Two written tests in English on the learning platform Moodle, voluntary oral participation.

Permitted materials: The tests are designed as open book tests. This means that you may and should use all available sources to answer the questions. However, cooperation with third parties is not permitted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements: Attendance in the first session is compulsory; in case of absence in this first session, an excuse is required, otherwise students will be deregistered from the course. Attendance is compulsory in the units thereafter; two unexcused absences will be tolerated. For a positive assessment of the course, at least 50% of the total score of the two tests must be achieved.

Assessment criteria: The grade is determined by the number of points achieved in the written tests; the grade on the tests is increased by one grade for every three voluntary participation points. However, oral participation can only increase the grade by a maximum of two grades.
