Aims, contents and method of the course

Assessment and permitted materials

There will be a term paper and a written examination at the end of each semester. Active course participation and contribution in the form of short presentations will be required.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The Course will not only provide the participants with specific information on M&A and Joint Venture Agreements, but will also focus on drafting and negotiating in the English language. Students will have the possibility to obtain basic core knowledge to prepare themselves for working as a corporate lawyer at a law firm or company.

Examination topics

The course will consist of seminars á 90 minutes, with introductions to the topic, discussion and short presentations of the course participants. The first sessions will provide necessary background knowledge vital for effective contract drafting. Thereafter students will be involved in drafting contract clauses, looking for solutions to tricky drafting issues, negotiating specific contract clauses and discussing real world case studies.
