Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course deals with questions of European and international Energy law and Energy policy. It focuses on issues of geopolitics, climate change, renewable energies and the ‘external dimension’ of the European Union's energy supply and the transformative impact of climate change on the EU's energy systems. Special emphasis shall be placed on climate change related questions, renewable nergy sources, the external dimension of the Union's energy supply, the regulation of renewable energy sources and legal questions of energy markets in the EU. In the final discussion, perspectives and legal policy dimensions will be raised and discussed if there is sufficient interest.
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment is based on a positive exam (= 80%) and active participation in classroom discussion(20).
