Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar is interdisciplinary and is organized in different groups with focal points.
* Group of doctoral students (focus!): The seminar serves to present and discuss current quality research on legal informatics, especially dissertations/Ph.D.
* Legal Informatics Group
Generative AI - Large Language (LLM); applications in administration and justice
Data Governance & Privacy: Data Act, Data Governance Act, KI Act
* European Law/International Law Group: Internet Governance, ICANN; Cybercrime and cyberwar, cybersecurity
* Group Hackathon Legal Informatics (see call, https://remep.net/en/law-as-code-26)

Assessment and permitted materials

Talk, written seminar paper, active participation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Solid mastery of legal skills and academic work; sufficient knowledge of technical and legal informatics or international and European law is helpful, but not a formal requirement.

Examination topics

Assisted and independent research & analysis, presentation,discussion

Scientific work in legal informatics. In addition, the choice of related international and European law issues is possible.

Reading list

Introductory literature will be provided, otherwise individual research is required.
