Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar will examine comparative legal issues in labor and social security law related to the application of artificial intelligence tools.

The course will be offered in conjunction with two events as part of a collaboration between the University of Vienna and Kyoto University. In addition to writing and presenting a seminar paper, which can also be credited as a diploma thesis, participation in a seminar for Kyoto University students in Vienna and attendance at the academic conference on legal issues surrounding the application of artificial intelligence in Kyoto in September 2026 are required. Organizational details will be announced at a preliminary meeting, which will take place on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. via BigBlueButton.

Assessment and permitted materials

Die Leistungskontrolle erfolgt durch Beurteilung der Seminararbeit, der mündlichen Präsentation sowie der Beteiligung an der Diskussion im Rahmen der Seminarsitzungen.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Positive seminar thesis, oral presentation and participation, short report of a lecture at the conference in Kyoto
