Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This seminar provides doctoral candidates, diploma students and master's students with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the complex legal issues surrounding international economic and financial market law. The aim is to equip students with a solid understanding of the legal framework governing international economic activities and financial markets.
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment is based on a thesis, an oral presentation and a discussion of the results. Completed seminar papers will be presented at a joint seminar conference organised by the University of Vienna, the University of Zurich and Bucerius Law School Hamburg. This conference will take place in Vienna on 23 and 24 March 2026.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Assessment criteria include: comprehensive treatment of relevant topics; clarity of presentation; persuasiveness, originality and quality of argument; and independence of thought and scope of research.
Examination topics
Topics include private international law, private law and comparative law.
