Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is designed to provide thorough preparation for the FÜM I exam (Introduction to the international principles of law, public international law part). To guarantee a successful preparation, the course aims at teaching the rules of public international law on the basis of the text book, and at practicing legal case-solving skills applicable to the international legal system. The exam at the end will give the students the opportunity to test their knowledge in a simulation of the FÜM exam. The feedback session will allow students to improve their answers and eradicate mistakes for the FÜM examination.

Assessment and permitted materials

1. Class participation
2. Online tests before each session (allowing 3 attempts each, counting the best result)
3. Final exam (FÜM simulation)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements: For successful completion, students must reach a minimum of 50% of all points (which is of all three course assessments cumulatively, with no minimum requirement for any of the three). Attendance to this course is mandatory.

Grading scheme:
1. Class participation – 30% of points
2. Online tests – 30% of points
3. Final exam – 40% of points
