Aims, contents and method of the course
Goals and Contents: After successful completion of this course, participants have gained profound knowledge of different types of financial intermediaries (e.g., banks, life insurance companies, etc.), and a deep understanding of their elementary economic functions as well as the role of competition between them. They are able to understand the nature of the relationship between borrowers and lenders, as well as the main features and consequences of systemic risk in the financial sector. They are able to apply their knowledge to practical problems.

Contribution of partial exams to the final grade: The grade of a participant depends on his/her answers to the questions of the midterm exam (30%), his/her answers to the questions of the final exam (40%), as well as his/her presentation and his/her active participation in class (30%).
Minimum requirements for the positive grade: more than 50 percent of the achievable scores
