Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Contents: Students who have successfully completed this course are familiar with basic concepts and theories that are necessary to analyze the macroeconomic performance of countries both in the long run and at business-cycle frequencies. The course introduces important macroeconomic variables, develops a standard model for business cycle analysis, explains the key ideas behind the study of long-run growth and development, and highlights some aspects of international macroeconomics.

Methods: The course material is presented by the lecturer during classes.

Assessment and permitted materials

A written final exam of 75 minutes. The exam has an open book format and contains 16 multiple choice questions plus one open question.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For each multiple choice question, one can earn up to one point. For the open question, one can earn up to 7 points. For a positive grade, a student has to earn at least 11.5 points.
