Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Permanent check of language activities in the oral & written forms, home assignments assume at least 4 hours of self-study per week.
The final grade consists of 3 parts of the language activities to be tested:
- Midterm Test: Grammar & Translation (Lessons 1-5) - 20%.
- Written Final Exam: Grammar, Translation, Speech Production - description of a family (Lessons 1-8) - 40%
- Oral Test: dialogs & stories about people & places (Lessons 1-9) - 40%
Students missing more than 4 times will be checked out of the course (in case of illness proved thru a medical note), otherwise they will be evaluated negatively.
Students who cut the first lesson without an excuse, will be checked out of the course.

Content:
the basics of the Russian language acquisition: the alphabet, spelling, pronunciation, intonation, parts of speech, basic vocabulary & grammar, capacity to communicate orally in the following areas:
meeting people /ask & give Info concerning names, age, origin, studies, job, address, phone-number, family, hobbies, sports, music, location & direction.
