Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is concerned with the evolution of the multinational firm and the formation of the network structure of the MNC. The course will consist of lectures, presentations and case analysis. The student is expected to develop skills in evaluating international competitive strategies in multicultural environments, in designing alternative organizational forms for multinational firms, in the use of international licensing, strategic alliances, merger & acquisitions, consortia, franchising and clusters, in identifying appropriate forms of market entry, and in developing network strategies to create competitive advantage of nations, regions and cities.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The goal of this course is to familiarize students with a broad range of theoretical and practical perspectives on the strategy and organization of the multinational firm as global network. The course consists of three parts: Lectures, Case Studies and Public Lectures

Examination topics

The course consists of four parts: (1) Seminar Paper, (2) Presentation of the Seminar Paper, (3) Class Participation, and (4) Public Lectures.
