Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture series introduces the sociological perspective into economic action and offers an overview over societal determinants of economic life. The lectures cover basic sociological concepts and theories, the history of thought in economic sociology, principles of coordination in the economy as well as relational, institutional and cultural factors of economic action. Students obtain an understanding of the contents of the lectures and are able to reproduce them and apply them in everyday life.
Assessment and permitted materials
A written exam in the classroom is planned. If this cannot take place for organisational reasons, the exam will be held online (either oral or written, to be decided in the short term, depending on conditions). A definitive decision whether the exam will be held in the classroom or online will be taken in the beginning of January. No material allowed. A dictionary mother tongue - German may be used.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Written exam in classroom: For a positive mark more than 50 percent of the maximum number of points (100) must be obtained. Scale: 51–62=4, 63–74=3, 75–87=2, 88–100=1
