Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This module is concerned with the market entry decision of the multinational firm. It consists of two parts: (a) Theories of the existence and market entry modes of the multinational firm, and (b) empirical applications in different industries. It gives an overview of the theoretical approaches of the market entry modes of the multinational firm. The theoretical foundation and the empirical applications of the following market entry modes are discussed: Direct and indirect export, licensing, strategic alliances (non-equity and equity arrangements), franchising, brownfield investments, greenfield investments and mergers & acquisitions.
