Aims, contents and method of the course

In this course, students acquire basic knowledge in the field of computer and communication networks with a special focus on the Internet and its technologies. The course looks at both theoretical principles and practical applications of all layers of the OSI reference model. The course also addresses current social and political developments relating to the Internet.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam at the end of the semester (100% of the possible points).

2 (good) 88%–76%
3 (satisfactory) 75%–63%
4 (sufficient) 62%–50%
5 (insufficient) below 50%
