Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course focuses on the exchange of information between information systems within an organisation and across organisational boundaries. The participants will explore various interoperability concepts by applying selected approaches and strategies to simulated real-world interoperability scenarios and realistic data.

Prerequisites:
* Basic knowledge of common data formats (e.g. XML, JSON, YAML) and business process modelling languages (e.g. BPMN)
* Advanced knowledge in database systems and data modelling (i.e., ER modelling and UML modelling)
* Basic knowledge of service-oriented architectures (SOA)
* Proficiency in at least one programming language of your choice
* Basic understanding of shell scripting

Assessment and permitted materials

* Assignments during the semester (implementation, application of tools)
* On-site written exam

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Assignments: 55%
Written exam (on-site): 45%

Overall at least 51% of the points are required to pass the course.

>= 80% good (2)
>= 65% satisfactory (3)
>= 51% sufficient (4)
< 51% not sufficient (5)
