Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students will learn about threat scenarios in distributed systems communications by understanding how to attack components of networked systems and how memory corruption can lead to takeover of network endpoints. The extensive exercise section (lab assignments) teaches topics beyond network security basics:

* Focus on binary exploitation
* Feasible network attacks
* Lab exercises chaining together different vulnerabilities

Assessment and permitted materials

60% of the grade is based on the lab assignments, 40% for the exam about all lecture content at the end of the semester.
Usage of AI tools is strictly prohibited.
