Aufgrund der Anpassung des Lehrangebots an das neue Curriculum startet die KFK Semantische IS nunmehr jeweils im Sommersemester. Daher findet die "UE Anwendungen aus semantischen Technologien" im Sommersemester und die "VU Semantische Technologien" im Wintersemester statt.Im Studienjahr 2016/17 kann die KFK Semantische IS als Übergangslösung für Studierende des auslaufenden Curriculums mit der "UE Anwendungen aus semantischen Technologien" im WS begonnen und im darauffolgenden SS mit der "VU Semantische Technologien" abgeschlossen werden.

Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Individual or team-based realization of practical topics in the areas of semantic information systems. In particular we will use platforms such as Clips, SWI-Prolog, Protégé, R, ADOxx and others.The course is particularly adapted for the transition period in the winter term 2016-17. It consists of introductory lectures on semantic technologies such as foundations of artificial intelligence, knowledge representation, predicate logic, production rules, semantic networks, and ontologies and their query languages.
Assessment and permitted materials
3 Submissions are required:
1. Completion of exercises (30% - Individual)
2. Practical realization of a task using selected technologies (30% - Team)
3. Written exam (40% - Individual)The submissions have to be made electronically via the elearning platform. The presentations have to be given orally within the course at fixed dates.Attendance is mandatory.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Individual design and realization of implementation-oriented topics in the areas of semantic information systems; Extension of skills in using Clips, SWI-Prolog, Protégé, R and other technical platforms.For a positive evaluation of the course more than 50% have to be reached at minimum. The grading scale is defined as follows: >50% - 62,5%: Genügend; >62,5% - 75%: Befriedigend; >75% - 87,5%: Gut; >87,5%: Sehr Gut
