Aims, contents and method of the course

Wo gab es jüdische Gemeinden im Mittelalter? Welche Formen der Selbstverwaltung und welche institutionellen Strukturen prägten ihr gemeinschaftliches Leben? Und was sind die wichtigsten Entwicklungen und Akteure ihrer intellektuellen Geschichte im muslimischen und christlichen Kontext? Um diese Fragen geht es in dieser Vorlesung, die eine Einführung in die jüdische Kulturgeschichte des Mittelalters bietet.
Die Inhalte werden durch Vorträge vermittelt und in interaktiven Diskussionsphasen vertieft. Als Arbeits- und Lernbehelf stehen Folien zur Verfügung. Die Texte der Primärliteratur werden in Übersetzung gelesen und gemeinsam analysiert.

Schriftliche Prüfung (90 Minuten).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Es werden 3 umfassendere Fragen gestellt. Für eine positive Beurteilung müssen mindestens 2 der gestellten Fragen ausreichend beantwortet werden.
