What is a martyr? what does qiddush ha-shem mean in this context? Examples of texts on martyrdom in Jewish Late Antiquity and medieval times.

Assessment and permitted materials

preparing of source texts, reading in Hebrew, interpreting of texts
control:
Seminar: 25 points max. working during the lectures
moderation: 25 points max.
seminar work: 50 points max

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

• not more than 2 Absences,

• 81-100 points = 1.
• 61-80 points = 2.
• 41-60 points = 3.
• 21-40 points = 4.
• 0-20 points = 5.
