Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course is dealing with the architecture and art form the Ramesside period (New Kingdom, Dynasties 19 and 20), including the development of large monumental buildings, statues and wall decoration (relief and painting). The royal buildings, temples and tombs, as well as private architecture (mainly tombs) or private statues and small objects are offering a large amount of information for an intensive discussion of this period.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The participants should have acquired detailed knowledge about the art and architecture of the Ramesside period, they should be able to recognize and to discuss in detail the monuments and buildings, as well as to interpret the statues, wall decorations (relief, paintings) and objects.
