Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The workshop provides a space for discussion and work in which the topic and question of the Master's thesis can be developed.
The following questions, among others, will be discussed together: What is a relevant research topic? How can a question be meaningfully narrowed down and a feasible project developed? How can the chosen question be linked to existing research literature? What material is available and which methods can be applied to it in a meaningful way? How can the time required for a project be estimated and a realistic work plan developed?
The work takes place in plenary sessions, in groups and in individual discussions.

Assessment and permitted materials

The continuous active participation as well as the completion of the smaller tasks set from unit to unit are obligatory.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participation and discussions in the plenary session, prepared smaller contributions to the discussion, an oral presentation of the concept for the planned Master's thesis and a detailed written proposal are included in the assessment.

Examination topics

The course is examination-immanent.
