The preliminary meeting for the excursion will take place in the afternoon of October 8th. Registered students will be notified in advance by email of the exact location and time.

The excursion in Vienna is scheduled for October 28th to 31st.

The first consultation hour to discuss the topics, a thesis, and the methodological approach for the thesis will take place virtually (via Moodle) on December 12 at 2pm.

The cost of the excursion is approximately €30 per person (the exact price will be announced during the preliminary meeting). This includes admission fees, guided tours, honoraria, etc. Travel costs to and from the excursion locations are not included.

Because the excursion will take place in Vienna, the faculty does not provide any financial aid for eligible students.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students will gain insight into the diverse forms and possibilities of experiencing Vienna as an extracurricular learning location. A city tour, visits to the Gamelab, the Carnuntum Archaeological Park, and Schönbrunn Zoo are planned. The didactic quality of these sites will be explained by the respective local contact persons.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in the (online) sessions.
Presence in Berlin and active participation on site.
An independently written thesis of approx. 10 pages. When working in a group, the number of pages increases proportionally.

Alternative examinations and documentation of independently acquired knowledge (blogs, podcasts, films, graphic novels, etc.) are desired and possible by arrangement.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The assessment of the examination performance consists of participation in the (online) sessions (10%), presence in Vienna and active participation in the excursion (60%) as well as the final paper (30%).

In order to successfully complete the course, positive achievements must be made in all areas!

Examination topics

Will be discussed with the participants in the online units.
You are expected to work independently on a topic of your own choosing.
