Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to advise, support, and guide students in the preparation and writing of their final theses. Depending on the progress of their work, students will present research proposals or chapters orally and submit them for discussion.
The oral presentations and written elaborations include – depending on the individual progress of the work – precise research questions, an introduction to the sources and methods, information on the state of research, and references to the most important research literature.
Based on the respective research projects, we will discuss structure, methods, content, language, and research problems, while simultaneously practicing how to provide constructive feedback. Additionally, the course instructor will provide input on topics such as literature research, presenting the state of research, methods, archival studies, sources, and writing techniques to complement the teaching units.
