Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In the class we will read texts by English writing authors who are important for the processes of globalisation in the Pacific Region, for example Joseph Banks, James Cook, Matthew Flinders, George Vancouver, and so on.
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation in classes, two scientific essays with a total of 50,000 characters till March 31, 2019.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Facilitate the handling of all types of texts in English, which historians normally need for their scientific work.
Examination topics
We are going to read, interpret, and analyse the texts in order to facilitate their use for scientific works.
Reading list
The texts will be available via the Moodle learning platform for all students who attend the weekly classes regularly.
